Drea, like Hiraeth, is an exciting world filled with sorcerers, dangerous creatures, and rising heroes (or anti-heroes maybe?). There will be fewer dragons than on Hiraeth, but plenty of strange animals and a heavy lean on characters with elemental powers. If you don't want to start in a modern era and like to dive right into high fantasy, than Drea is the place.
Scroll down to see the map of Raymes, the continent on Drea where most of the first series takes place. Also, check out Arkium - The City of Industry - that will play a key role in the books. More maps will be added as they are created.
Check out important locations on Raymes including Elunn, Auria, and Arkium and learn a little about their significance.
Stay tuned for my full-length novel Surfacing, Book one in the Gods of Drea series.
Raymes (Continent on the world of Drea):
Auria -City of Unity
Awnweire - Meaning "Cloak of Darkness." It's the darkest forest of Drea, said to be the place of Lady Aubray's retreat. As dark as night at noon day in the deepest reaches, the Cindrea of the Life-giving soil may be found between the sea and Kai's lake.
Aldurn-The Spring of Life. Said to be the spout where the Anadrea first collected magma to create the life blood of the High Order Mondrea.
Arkium - City of Industry
Mountain of the Prophet -the place were Nathan resides
Close up of Elunn, an isolated city in the mountains. If you look to the upper right you will see a group of mountains marking this city. It's almost entirely blocked off from the influences of magic and modern thought. Crista's story begins here in this savage land that sacrifices young women to the Monster of the Lake.
Auria, known as the city of Unity can be seen in the upper righthand of this close up map just north of a large mountain peak (this is known as the Mountain of the Prophet). In the first age of Drea, Vilri instructed the High Order Mondrea to build a beautiful city which would be the new home of an ancient race (known as humans) soon to arrive. Vilri hoped that as the humans took care of the city, they would honor this gift of the High Order and the bond would unite them throughout all the ages of the world.
Arkium -City of Industry. Arkium contains some of the rarest treasures of Drea beneath its soil. Once a thriving city of great wealth, it's now overrun by greedy sorcerers who desire to make the people of Arkium work to support their expensive interests. The entire city is designed after a human hand. Carpus being the central point and the branching sections named after the fingers of the hand. The Ruler's Keep is called "The King's Foot." representing his might; fittingly, the towers are arranged to look like the heels and toes of a large foot.
Anadrea – The gods of creation. Vilri is the highest and the one that communicates directly with the Cindrea. Or at least he did before he vanished...
Cindrea – Name for the guardians of the elements of which there are four: Aubray (soil, plant growth), Pylandier (fire), Danu (water), and Rosamea (wind). They are immortal and invincible with immense power. To the Mondrea and humans they are like gods.
High Order Mondrea – The first race that Vilri created. They enjoy eternal youth and the ability to renew themselves using the materials of Drea.
Humans – Standard definition. You know, like the ones we know about on Earth with red blood. They come in all shapes and sizes and colors.
Mondrea – The dominant race on Drea, the Mondrea are the hybrid children of the combined genes of a High Order and Human. The High Order used to be simply called Mondrea, but when this new mortal race began to spread, they took to calling themselves a Higher, purer form of Vilri's creation. Mondrea run hotter than humans with orange-y blood reminiscent of magma.
Mods - A general term to describe anyone who has modified their bodies either by the power of the Cindrea or through other experimentation. Mods can be anything from a change of rounded ears to pointy, as is common on Tarya, to full out Lavarians -the brutal mercenaries of Pylandier's making.
This is just a preview of important terms regarding the people of Drea. I'll be adding to this page as well as discussing details of my world and associated stories via my blog.
Gods of Drea follows the key most powerful beings of Drea as they cross paths with a seemingly insignificant human named Crista. Her journey takes her through water, ground, fire, and air as she aspires to become the ultimate warrior of Auria.

"There is magic in this world and I will find a way to bring it to you."
Crista is slated for a cruel death as a sacrifice to the vicious Lake Monster to ensure another year of prosperity for the city of Elunn. When one of the healers brings her a forbidden book which teaches her how to make a deal with the Sorcerer King, she petitions him to spare her life in exchange for a lifetime of service in his Kingdom.
Xander, the Sorcerer King, has all but given up on the once noble and brave race of humans when he hears the voice of one calling to him. At first he ignores it, but when her voice becomes more earnest, he follows it to the isolated city of Elunn in the far North of Raymes. There he finds a girl so determined to live she would fight the invincible minions of the great water guardian, Danu. With only a shard of glass as a weapon, her ferocious courage stirs the cold Sorcerer King's heart. Could she endure the rigorous training and trials of Von to become a warrior of Auria?
Despite her efforts, Crista is no match for the monster and it pulls her deep into dark waters. But just when it seems she will drown, a power takes hold and she finds herself surfacing towards the light...
